Strategies that Work – Pick a kid-friendly partner. Planned Parenthood understands youth issues and has established youth –centered programs. – Use teens to outreach to their peers. Teens know what other teens want/need and they know what techniques work to get kids interested in coming into the clinic. – Pick a “Teen-Friendly” Staff. Adolescents are intuitive—they know when providers and clinic staff are judgmental and/or not caring about their issues no matter how minuscule they may appear. – Engage your school administration/school staff. Make them feel that they are Included when making decisions for the clinic that will impact the school • Challenges to Overcome – School District Policy/Politics – School Policy/Politics – Personnel/Personal issues – Funding issues
