Dear GBI Family and Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you this evening… My dear friend - brother - mentor and partner, Paul G. McDonald past away this afternoon, April 17th at 2:29pm.
We have all lost a great man today! A soul that dedicated his life to research and development of a blueprint and strategies around urban economic empowerment systems (incubation) to champion underserved communities. As I reflect on Paul’s life, it struck me, that with all the research and data created and distributed in our 33 year relationship, CSBD (forerunner to GBI) nor GBI ever charged anyone for any of it. It was always freely given - like a farmer handing out seeds hoping and believing that the receivers would plant them and come back with a harvest to feed the community and future generations.
As you reflect on your relationship to the life and work of Paul, please hold Tonia up with your prayers - the two of them were joined together in this journey for over 46 years! Tonia will need your strength and support to get through this difficult time… No arrangements have been made, but as soon as they are, I will reach back out with those details.
It is my hope that you and your families continue to stay safe and health.
