I'm not fully aware of what all needs to be setup re: dns, mx, a records and security.
Please use your judgement based on what you see and know to be feasible where we are able to configure ]po[ to be self contained and also being able to create another instance from scratch. step by step. And or replicate an existing instance from and image or running instance.
I trust this is not too much. But please let me know, either way. I'm sharing with you my dreams and aspirations of may years, which has evolved as has ]po[ came on the scene in 2007? (glad to see it has evolved so much) and the introduction of odoo (to met) last year.
fyi, Kevin, another volunteermatch linux admin, over a year ago, started creating a script to automate the installation of ]po[. we never did get it completed. it was his idea which sounded good to me at the time.
For right now, I'm looking to explore this as a learning environment where you help me learn the linux system admin portions that i'm missing.
My goal is to be able to install ]po[ as a basic production instance and if we can install .lrn and put ]po[ on top of it then I will have what I need to further compare single instance of ]po[ and .lrn to http://odoo.com and http://open-educat.org
fyi and to give you another piece of the r&d scope of caltek.net and litli.net with erp based, advanced learning systems integration with http://adlnet.gov
do you have experience with LXC?
