Luri,

I've done my basic ]po[ configuration and parameters settings. Maybe you
can check the later since you know more about running a secure system than
I do.

It would be very nice to run dotlrn along side ]po[ Frank said we should
be able to install ]po[ onto a working dotlrn via the oacs package system.

Indeed. That'll save lots of efforts writing “glue” code. Integrations back and forth those two different instances of .LRN and ]po[ .

Nevertheless, .LRN plays with OACS core in a different way, which I’m not sure if ]po[ has been prepared. We’ll see.

sooooo.... at any rate i.e. like phil greenspuns suggestion of having 3
different instances to work with...so maybe you are up for doing another
install or maybe you would like to walk me through installing it?

Not clear. Are you going to try to install in this new instance?  You can follow the tutorial you have provided

]po[ installer

Even though, it lacks specification on how to install Naviserver. You can use Gustaf’s script (i.e. install-ns.sh), which installs the latest version of NS and a few SFW requirements automatically.
