promotion 101 anytime communication for an event, goes out, make sure to lead with the theme. It will become the most identifiable aspect of the event. Endangered Species. It's brilliant!

thank you for sending this out. who all did you send it to? it would be great if you'd join me in using the http://wcaec.net event schedule to work on the who, who and when.

I have not quite figured it all out yet, it just means spending more time with the various systems and building a data-model. I'm ready to have real projects, ie wcaec. especially with mapping capabilities which their are two online one is the place that http://wcaec.net is pointing to now. this is the http://turnkeylinux.org/ushahidi  crowdsource system.
The other mapping software is http://picounion.net which is running http://turnkeylinux.org/sahana-eden Humanitatian Resouce Management software. Sahana Eden is the bigger of the two mapping systems...I started wcaec with this one but then decided to move it to Ushahidi.
.note the desktop mapping software suite to use is http://live.osgeo.org

fyi there are other necessary functional use centri, browser based open source systems for use to explore and integrate with mapping..
http://e.caltek.net and or http://ll.caltek.net but it's time i get you and others to explore and discovery what is online and available for wcaec to learn more about the vast variety of open source, user centric, browser based, software systems. I'll create a list with all of them. We need a place to host our own server in watts. who has good connectivity and will let us co-locate our own server. we then purchase a new energy efficient server for $500 and one could be donated, for this if it is timely otherwise let's setup locations and kick it off on EarthDay to have people bring and donate computers for our Tek Pass Thru program.

We can point http://wcaec.net to any of these (above) and other running systems. I just need some help selecting which ones to use for what, because I'm the new person on the block, so to say.

but again, thank you and jackie...she rang me yesterday and i feel better when i know more about what's going on. she told me about the non-profit she wants wcaec to use, but when i asked her about the annual budget for the last 3-5yrs and  financial audit she said they did not do much in the last few years and we'd need to do an audit.

i told her that we need a fiscal sponsor ie community partners to incubate our non-profit system,. we can make it a collaboration and bring those other agencies along with us since they need to be better established so each of us can compete for large scale funding. We should be able to do it as a multi layered collaboration agreement system developed by Father Time and Brad Carson.

there's so much more, but we need to get us onto easy street.
